A quick guide to digital fundraising (an aside)

A quick mention of a very useful article that’s been published online this week by Know How NonProfit. Sector experts, including Sue, give their no-nonsense advice about how to use the internet for fundraising. Definitely worth a read:

How To: Social media basics #3

So far so good... Last week we pointed you to Sue’s recent step-by-step guide to setting up social networking. If you gave it a try, you’ll have discovered how easy it is.

But the real plus of the internet is the way you can link things together and that’s what this week’s guide is all about. A step-by-step guide to linking your different social networking tools together.

Nobody has unlimited time (clearly!) so follow these steps to maximise the impact of whatever you have done. You know it’s worth it.

How To: Social media basics #2

Well, as we said last week, we’ve added a fabulously straightforward presentation to the site, all about how to set up social networking tools like blogs, Facebook and Twitter.

You may be surprised (pleasantly!) by how easy it is to do. The guide is just 9 step-by-step slides that tell you exactly what to do – and in what order.

And that’s what is best about it: don’t you just love it when people demystify things?

Take a look at it, we hope you’ll find it useful: Step by Step Social Networking at http://www.suefidler.com/sn

Next week we’ll add the next part of the guide...

How To: Social media basics #1

We’ve just uploaded a new presentation onto the Sue Fidler Ltd website, one that Sue did for the Media Trust in November and one that we think might be of interest. It’s about social media: why it’s worth using, when it’s worth using it, how to make the best use of it... all the things we need to know these days.

Really common-sense, written in non-techy speak, so good for absolutely anyone who’s interested – or who thinks they should be. Particular likes? The bit about starting by asking yourself why you should use social media, making sure it’s what’ll suit your audience (not just doing it because it’s the in thing).

Take a look at the presentation: Social Media Surgery at http://www.suefidler.com/papers/

Next week we’re going to be adding the first part of a step-by-step guide to setting up social networking sites...
